Michael has practiced hypnotherapy for 36 years and maintained a private psychotherapy practice in northern Michigan for 27 years. Through his affiliation with Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan and Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, Michigan he was influential in the formation of Integrative Medicine Committees in both settings. He was also the first to offer Grand Rounds training to physicians and medical staff on “Hypnotherapy: THE Body-Mind Therapy” and the use of meridian-based therapies in the hospital setting.
In 1980, Michael founded the Institute for Holistic Living which offers a wide variety of educational and life enhancing experiences in various venues throughout the world. Will has taught hypnosis and healing arts seminars to thousands of students and now is fulfilling his dream to teach and train professional hypnotherapists. Will is a strong believer in community wellness through cooperation, collaboration and the empowerment of individuals. He is active with many community projects in Helena. One of his favorite projects is chairing the Media Literacy Committee of the Youth Connections Coalition and helping to produce the annual media literacy showcase, the M Gen Fest. Media literacy empowers and enlightens students of all ages to analyze and use the meta-messages of media and to learn critical thinking skills that they can apply to all areas of life. He also continues to work towards the goal of hypnosis being recognized as the important and essential tool it is for creative living, health, healing and happiness. In addition to training hypnotherapists, he has a private practice in Helena, Montana, he is a Prevention Specialist, is a professor of psychology at the University of Montana-Helena and hosts his weekly TV show Health, Healing and Happiness on HCTV-Ch. 11 (Scroll down to view Will interview fellow hypnotherapist Patrick Marsek on the subject of clinical hypnotherapy).

“Since late adolescence I have studied and practiced to varying degrees, Transcendental Meditation, chanting, Zen Meditation, Yoga (with breathing exercises), active listening, Tibetan Buddhist Meditation (both silent and with and without mantra and sacred object gazing), visualization meditations, Tonglen, therapeutic touch, Dale Carnegie (the power of positive thinking), conscious prayer and other techniques to promote my own spiritual development and become a more compassionate nurse and human being.
